The essence of development is the formation of multilayered gauze bandages, which contains in its composition the active substance is chitosan.

General technical characteristics, essence of invention

The inclusion of chitosan in different ratios and shapes can significantly increase the effectiveness of stop arterial bleeding from major blood vessels (femoral and brachial artery) compared to traditional means of medical purpose, which are registered in Ukraine. Additionally, the developed tool has an antibacterial effect that helps to decrease the frequency of purulent infectious complications.

Comparison with world analogues, main advantages of invention

The use of chitosan bandage allows to reduce the time of stop massive bleeding in 2 times, the volume of blood loss when using freeze-dried sponges is decreased in 2,9 times, with using of dressing with chitosan it is decreased in 10 times.

The use of the invention allowed for a complete stop of the bleeding due to the rapid formation of the thrombus at the site of injury, without affecting the surrounding tissues and the absence of systemic manifestations, which positively affects not only the damage to large vessels, as well as diffuse bleeding from soft tissues or parenchymal organs under conditions operational actions.

Market demand

The invention can be used to stop bleeding from vessels of different diameters, either during wounds in wartime or in emergency situations, or during scheduled surgical interventions in surgery, traumatology, obstetrics and gynecology.
